Medieval Mystery
It's
more than just a festival of food... your royal hosts (and their fool, wench and all the other costumed actors) provide amusement,
ambiance & medieval mystery, and even opportunities for the
audience to participate in daring challenges. Although the tourneys
of jousting and archery are true to the spirit of those valiant
knights of yore, the weapons used owe more to Toys R Us than to
Ivanhoe. But whether shooting an apple from off of the fool's head,
defending the honor of the queen in a joust, or singing a bawdy
song along with the serving wench, it's an evening of great merriment
for one and all.
.... and there's often
room for a dependable Lord High Executioner with a mean streak to
whisk those who invoke the queen's displeasure away to the stocks.
How
it works... Eat,
drink, be merry. We provide assorted nobles
and peasants decked out in medieval costume, as well as the implements,
armour and props that the members of the audience will require to
participate in tourneys of jousting and archery - it's an evening
of great merriment for one and all. There is a good deal of general
audience participation involved, and a medieval mystery that is
played out amongst the characters during the evening. As with our
murder mysteries, the crowd dictates the "taste" level
of the evening - although the actors do maintain a watchful eye
to see that community standards aren't compromised !

Food, characters and activities combine to create the ambience
of early medieval England. We've had enterprising chefs research medieval menus to create an astounding ambiance, while the Shadow Characters create a world a thousand years gone .... ambition, intrigue and medieval buckets of laughs. And the best detective will win a prize!
Facility
The cast requires a secured dressing area in close proximity to
the function room. The main "feasting hall" requires an open area, preferably in the middle of the hall,
visable to guests and at least 10' x 25' is needed for competitions.
Staff
Liason
Either Mistress Quigley or Brother Alfred will be your master of ceremonies and manager
of the evening, co-ordinating with production staff & site staff
via Banquet Captain to ensure the most enjoyable mingling of food
service, music and activity throughout the event. The Kitchen Wench
is the primary service liason; maintaining ongoing contact with
food service staff, in conjunction with the Lord High Chamberlain.
